Virtual Sunday School: The Lord's Prayer

Children under 8 years (8years+ below)

1. The Opening Prayer: "Dear God, Today Jesus reminded us that You are Our Father. Help us to believe that you love each one of us and all people. Amen."

2. The Story. different people call God with different Names. Today Jesus disciples ask Him about the best way to call God. Would it be Holy One (what does it mean?), The Almighty (what does it mean? Do you remember the song; "my God is so Big....?), or just "Dad". Jesus is answering their request.

3. Our game: name three things that you know about your Dad! For example, what is the colour of his hair (if he still has hair)? What is favourite snack? Is he good at dancing? Name three things that you know about God, our Father?

We can find out more about God from Jesus as he knows his Father. Jesus says to us that his Father loves all people, angels, animals and the whole world and Jesus told many stories about God's love. Do you have a favourite story told by Jesus about his Father? Can you share with us?

4. Prayers with the Lord's Prayer.

Dear God, we thank you for Jesus, your Son who teaches us how to talk to you. Now is the time, when we offer our prayers.

- we pray for all children and teachers, as we start a new school year. May your gift of love shines in our little hearts.

- we thank you for our Sunday School and all children from St Mary's. Bless us in our daily life.

- we pray for all people in Twickenham and we ask you for your presence among us.

- we thank you for our families, today we pray for our dads.

We say together the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples:

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name;

thy kingdom come;

thy will be done;

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation;

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

the power and the glory,

for ever and ever.

Amen.
