St Mary's Twickenham
"Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God"
St Mary’s Covid-safety update - October 2021
We shall meet in church
on Sundays for our Parish Eucharist at 9.30am
and on Wednesdays for private prayer from 10am-11am
See our Services page for details, including our Sunday 5pm Zoom service online.
Covid precautions in church:
You can now choose to be in church in any size group, and within those groups you can agree how much you want to 'socially distance'. You can sit together but do not have to do so.
To enable ‘Test and Trace’, on entry, please either use the QR code or write your name and contact details on the list at the door.
While inside St Mary’s buildings, we ask you to consider the sensitivities and health of all your fellow worshippers. You are strongly encouraged to:
wear a face covering (unless exempt)
use our hand sanitisers
keep at least 1 metre apart from those who are not in your group
donate by cash or card to the offertory collection when entering or leaving
sing softly and wear a face mask in services with congregational hymns
Holy Communion will be offered through consecrated bread only
We hope that you will join us for our worship in church when you feel able to do so.

ICON OF THE DAY
Giving to St Mary's
St Mary’s Church has had a special place in the lives of those who live and work in Twickenham for generations.
We now face an unprecedented challenge. For over a year, the church building was only open in very restricted circumstances because of the pandemic.
We have been reaching out and supporting our community in other ways, especially online. But we lost significant income from collections at Services and from hiring out the church and hall buildings for events.
This missing income would have helped pay for:
the work of our clergy and the wider church in London
the maintenance of our unique church building at the heart of Twickenham
our support to charities locally, nationally and overseas
If you can help us with a financial donation, please respond as generously as you can, so we in turn can continue to offer Christ's love to our community in these difficult times, as those before us have done down the centuries.
Gift Aiding donations allows St Mary's to increase what you give to St Mary's by 25p for every £1 you donate. So we are always appreciative of having current Gift Aid declarations in place. So if you are a new Giver or a regular Giver who has not completed and sent us a form recently, please download the form below, complete it, and email or post it back to us. Each year we make a claim to HMRC for the owed Gift Aid component based on the declarations we have.
Since 2019 it has been possible to regularly give to St Mary's directly by signing up to the Parish Giving Scheme run by the diocese. They look after the Gift Aid on our behalf, passing your donations and the Gift Aid component on to us (so simplifying things for us). To join the Scheme, follow this link, or phone them on 0333 002 1271 (option 1) during office hours and quote our bespoke parish code: 230623218 and have your bank details to hand. Please, when talking to them do not indicate you wish to be anonymous and in addition advise our Treasurer of your actions using the link above. We will then have a record enabling us to reconcile your donations with our statement.
To make a one-off donation by debit / credit card (and to Gift Aid it if possible), please click the button below.
Sunday School is back!
The return of in-person services on Sunday mornings at 9.30am brings with it a return of in-person Sunday School
We're delighted to welcome all of our children back to church,
and hope that you will join us to learn, worship and have fun together.
We have signed up to Inclusive Church. We hope people coming to St Mary's for the first time will feel at home.
