St Mary's Twickenham

"Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God"

Romans 15:7

St Mary's is a welcoming and inclusive church where we hope people coming for the first time will feel at home. We welcome people of all ages to any of our services.

St Mary's is a church which seeks to:

  • Use our buildings more effectively to help make God more real for the people of this area.

  • Nurture our relationships with God and with each other.

  • Nurture our children and young people with a positive sense of God

At our Stewardship Sunday Service on 13th March we heard how St Mary's is enriching the lives of the people of Twickenham and beyond - and how we can all support St Mary's work in these troubled times, not least financially. To learn more, scroll down to our 'Giving' section.

St Mary’s Church is being used as an 'overspill' storage and sorting space for Prosperity’s volunteers.

Our Sunday and Wednesday Eucharists will still be held in Church as planned.

While Covid rates in the London area are low, some members of the community remain vulnerable to serious infection.  So we ask you to show consideration to others.

 1. Please do not come to the church if you are displaying any Covid, bad cold or ‘flu symptoms.  You are strongly advised to self-isolate if you test positive for Covid.

 2. To respect the sensitivities and health of all your fellow worshippers, you are encouraged to:

  • use our hand sanitisers

  • donate by cash or card to the offertory collection when entering or leaving.

3. Holy Communion will be offered through consecrated bread only.

4. Masks do of course offer a level of protection to others and to yourself, so we are happy if you wear one!  Masks are available on request.

Giving to St Mary's

St Mary’s Church has had a special place in the lives of those who live and work in Twickenham for generations.

We now face an unprecedented challenge. For over a year, the church building was only open in very restricted circumstances because of the pandemic.

We have been reaching out and supporting our community in other ways, especially online. But we lost significant income from collections at Services and from hiring out the church and hall buildings for events.

This missing income would have helped pay for:

  • the work of our clergy and the wider church in London

  • the maintenance of our unique church building at the heart of Twickenham

  • our support to charities locally, nationally and overseas

If you can help us with a financial donation, please respond as generously as you can, so we in turn can continue to offer Christ's love to our community in these difficult times, as those before us have done down the centuries.

To increase or make a regular donation and to Gift Aid it if possible, click here to contact our Treasurer.

Gift Aiding donations allows St Mary's to increase what you give to St Mary's by 25p for every £1 you donate. So we are always appreciative of having current Gift Aid declarations in place. So if you are a new Giver or a regular Giver who has not completed and sent us a form recently, please download the form below, complete it, and email or post it back to us.  Each year we make a claim to HMRC for the owed Gift Aid component based on the declarations we have.

Since 2019 it has been possible to regularly give to St Mary's directly by signing up to the Parish Giving Scheme run by the diocese. They look after the Gift Aid on our behalf, passing your donations and the Gift Aid component on to us (so simplifying things for us). To join the Scheme, follow this link, or phone them on 0333 002 1271 (option 1) during office hours and quote our bespoke parish code: 230623218 and have your bank details to hand. Please, when talking to them do not indicate you wish to be anonymous and in addition advise our Treasurer of your actions using the link above.  We will then have a record enabling us to reconcile your donations with our statement.

To make a one-off donation by debit / credit card (and to Gift Aid it if possible), please click the button below.

Thank you!
