Sounds of Truth

We welcome the return to St Mary's of:

Olga Paliy - Piano

Yuliya Shpyg - Soprano

Iryna Zhytynska - Mezzo-soprano

....to perform Sounds of Truth, a programme of music which includes works by Purcell, Mozart, Mascagni, Bizet, Poulenc and Weill, as well as several Ukrainian composers.

Olga is a Ukrainian-born pianist, based in London for more than 15 years. She is successfully combining her performing career with teaching.

Iryna, a Ukrainian mezzo-soprano, is based in Poland. She was a soloist in Wroclaw Opera for 10 years. She made her Barbican debut in September 2023.

Yuliya, a Ukrainian soprano, has relocated since the war and is currently based in London.  Together with her family, she is one of the founders of The Shpyg Foundation, which is  hugely involved in raising money for people who are in need as a result of ongoing war in Ukraine, including rescue cars, repairing destroyed schools, houses... The foundation was originally established to help in development of sport, culture and science, but the current war obviously shifted the focus of their activity.

Proceeds from this performance will go to The Shpyg Foundation.
