About the event
Johan Löfving has distinguished himself as one of the new generation of musicians and has been praised for his communicative musicianship and unique playing style. As both a soloist and chamber musician on the international concert scene, he has performed in the Wigmore Hall, Kings Place and Milton Court in London, Sage Gateshead in Newcastle and Konzertsaal der Wiener Sängerknaben in Vienna.
Over the years, Johan has received several awards, including the London International Guitar Competition, Uppsala International Guitar Festival, the Jörgen Rörby Scholarship and the Royal Swedish Academy of Music's scholarships.
In addition, he has appeared on BBC Radio 3 & 4 and Swedish Radio.
In the first half of this recital, Johan will be playing the music of Regondi on an authentic period guitar along with other 19th century masters. “A greater genius than Regondi, as an instrumentalist, never lived.” Brighton Gazette 1861.
