About the event

The virtuoso South Korean-British pianist Nurry Lee  visits  St Mary's Church to give an unforgettable piano recital of works by Chopin.

Nurry Lee is a South Korean - British pianist who  was born in Reading and was offered a full scholarship and a Specialist place to study at Wells Cathedral School. She then attended the Royal College of Music in London where she was awarded the Milstein Award. She later won first prize at the prestigious Chopin Competition of the Royal Northern College of  Music. 

She has performed across Europe, U.K., Asia and West Africa and is regarded as one of the most dynamic pianists of her generation.  She has played on BBC Radio 3 with her piano trio, Trio Rouge and has performed at the Elgar Room at The Royal Albert Hall.  She won First Prize at the Piano House International Piano Competition 2023, and recently made her debut at Carnegie Hall in New York.
